Woolman was a graduate (as Claude Jenkins) of Carnegie Mellon University (Carnegie Tech Drama School) Pittsburgh, PA in 1956 and was the director at the Institute for Professional Actor Training from 1976-77.

Woolman died July 5, 1989 in Los Angeles, CA.
