Lupita Nyong'o
Lupita Amondi Nyong'o was born on March 1, 1983 to Dorothy (family planning/Africa Cancer Foundation) and Professor Peter (a senator) Anyang' Nyong'o in Mexico City, Mexico. She has five siblings.
Nyong'o's parents were living in political exile at the time of her birth and when she was a young girl, but the family returned to Kenya while she was still a child.

As a teen Nyong'o started acting, this is also when she returned to Mexico to learn Spanish. She attended Hampshire College in Amherst, MA where she graduated in 2003 with a degree in film, and studied at Yale Drama School where she earned her MFA in 2012.
