Bronagh Gallagher
Bronagh Gallagher was born on April 26, 1972, and is a native of Londonderry (Derry), in Northern Ireland, UK. Gallagher grew up listening to music that her parents played at home, where she danced with her brother and sister. This is where the performing really began and where her love for music blossomed.
Gallagher started acting in school where she was involved in the school choir and drama productions at Nazareth House Primary and St. Mary's College in Creggan. She credits these schools for encouraging her in the positive manner which motivated her to take on acting professionally. The only non-acting jobs Gallagher had was when she was a teenager, she worked in vintage clothes and shoe shops. While in school she joined the Oakgrove Theatre Company in Derry.
Gallagher's big break came with the film The Commitments and since then she has been gainfully employed as an actress and a singer, first with Andy White (she played the drums and added vocals) and then on her own touring.
