Lindsay Duncan


Lindsay Vere Duncan was born on November 7, 1950 in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.

Duncan trained at the Central School of Speech & Drama.  Her first stage appearances were at Southwold and Crewe before going to the Hampstead Theatre Club.  She subsequently joined the Manchester Royal Exchange Company where her roles included Viola in Twelfth Night, Daphne in Present Laughter, Margaret in The Ordeal of Gilbert Pinfold. She has also appeared in Plenty at the National Theatre, The Deep Blue Sea with the Cambridge Theatre Company and recently as Sylvia in The Recruiting Officer at the Bristol Old Vic and the Edinburgh Festival. 

Duncan is married to actor Hilton McRae. They have a son Callum who was born in 1990.
