Dench attended Carey Grammar High School in Melbourne, Australia and during the course of the four years there he played basketball, volleyball, tennis and track (shot put), he graduated in 1994. He attended Gonzaga University (Spokane, WA, US campus) where he played basketball (part of the NCAA) and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Business in Marketing. Additionally, he attended the University of New England where he earned an MBA in Marketing.
He is currently a senior strategist at Designworks, Ltd. in Melbourne, Australia.
Dench is married to Kathryn Dench, they have a son, Xavier, and a daughter, Elka.
