Arthur Burghardt

Arthur Burghardt was born on July 29, 1947

He is known for his smooth deep voice and a very moving and powerful portrayal of Frederick Douglass in a play he wrote called, "Frederick Douglass...Through His Words."  Burghardt performed this on stage and also a portion of the play on a show out of New York, produced by Gil Noble, called 'Like It Is.'  It was this stirring performance that garnered him an Emmy Award.
