Barton, Dan

Dan Barton

Dan Barton was born in California to a college professor father and an academic mother, his father's job as a professor meant they moved around a bit, so Barton lived in Nebraska and Texas because of that. He was always interested in show business, and started performing in 4th grade in a production of Oliver! at Kansas University, and continued performing while attending the University of Texas in Austin.  He moved to Houston in the early 80s after finishing school and began performing at the Comix Annex (attached to the Comedy Workshop.)

He moved to Los Angeles to continue his comic career, but started to concentrate on writing and wrote two mystery novels, Banshee and Relife, respectively. He returned to stand-up and spent two years opening for Sam Kinison on tour, he continued with stand-up until the 90s. At that point he got into broadcasting and TV writing and producing.

He currently lives in Toluca Lake, CA
