Baker, Kathy

Kathy Baker

Katherine Whitton Baker was born on June 8, 1950 in Midland, TX to John Seawand Baker (a geologist and teacher at the University of Paris and Princeton,) and Helene Andree Baker (Whitton.) Baker was raised in New Mexico where she knew at the age of 5 that she wanted to be an actor. She took classes at the Albuquerque Children's Theatre at age 10, and acted in school productions for 12 years, her schooling also included Boston University and the California Institute of the Arts.
Baker took a seven year break from acting to "get out there and live." She moved to Europe, got a degree in French, attended the Cordon Bleu (Cuisine and pastry) then taught in France and San Francisco. Then returned to acting.
She was once married to Donald Camillieri, they had two children, a son and a daughter.
She currently lives in California with her husband Steve Robman (director/producer).
