Gerald W. Abrams


Gerald W. Abrams was born on February 1, 1939 to Samuel D. and Lillian K. Abrams (owners of the Broad Street Army & Navy Store) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  He attended William Penn High School, moved on to Penn State University where he studied marketing and accounting, then taking up a job in radio back in Harrisburg before graduating in 1961.
His career started in New York City in the '60s at CBS as an account executive, then worked his way up to head the West Coast Sales at KCBS Los Angeles in the '70s where he eventually became the General Sales Manager.
The mid-'70s-'80s is when Abrams started to produce shows/specials for television-films.
He was married to Carol Ann Abrams (neĆ© Kelvin - TV and film producer) until her death in 2012. They had two children, Jeffrey and Tracy Rosen.  Jeffrey is the J. in J. J. Abrams, director of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Tracy Rosen is a screenwriter.
